Responsibilities

We wish to hire a Cloud Networking & Security Engineer who can provide hands-on technical engineering and ownership of the growing cloud program, across multiple providers using public cloud platforms. You will work closely with our Product Centre groups, as well our Cloud Operations team, to help build secure and robust systems and applications responsible for serving all Cloud customers.  

 

Role Description:

 

The Cloud Networking & Security Engineer provides cloud networking and security expertise in the analysis, assessment, development, and evaluation of network solutions and architectures to secure applications, operating systems, databases, applications, and complex networks hosting multiple customers. 

Additionally, the Cloud Networking & Security Engineer assists in the development of requirements including secure network design and implementation, secure application deployment, secure identity management, as well as providing monitoring and oversight for alerts in this environment.

 

  • Azure and AWS network design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of identity management and familiarity with such technologies as Ping Federate and Okta.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on Cloud network connectivity, including firewall and VPN technologies, vulnerability management, and security event management and triage.
  • Participate in projects that apply the company’s networking policies and standards for use in cloud environments.
  • Communicate network concepts to different audiences ranging from business leaders to engineers.
  • Comfortable serving in a consultant capacity to less-knowledgeable stakeholders.  Serve as a key subject matter expect in support of securing custom applications both from development and traditional network security perspectives.
  • Propose and/or design technical network solutions including complex network design concepts for a multi-tenant platform.
  • Mentor and influence multi-disciplinary teams in implementing secure network design and vulnerability remediation.
  • Develops standards, policies, and procedures as well as best practices documentation.
  • Translates technical requirements into business requirements.
  • Undergoes ongoing training to update appropriate Public Cloud skills and knowledge.

Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 to 13 years of experience in public cloud environments
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a technology field, or equivalent experience required

Skills Required

    • Previous experience with AWS.
    • Previous experience with Public, Private and Hybrid cloud networks.
    • Previous experience with identity management solutions.
    • Experience of vulnerability management and SIEM tools.
    • Experience with application frameworks, vulnerability management in software development, and associated proactive tools used in the SDLC.
    • Broad understanding of network protocols, routing and sub-netting.
    • Strong knowledge of firewalls including web application firewalls.
    • Strong understanding of penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
    • Experience with application pipelines and integrating security in the CI/CD process
    • Solid understanding of TCP/IP stack and OSI model.
    • Networking qualifications preferred but not essential.

    Azure/AWS certifications preferred but not essential
